about

This song was born another late night and began with a violin loop I recorded with a looping pedal.
Luke added these heartbreaking piano chords and I constructed the rest of the song slowly afterwards.
I tried to approach it the way Talk Talk did with their final album Laughing Stock and really love the way the song builds.
We revisited this one later on too, because I felt it needed something else to make the final section more interesting, so Rachel did two improvised viola parts that move together beautifully and end the song perfectly.

The title came because it is what I imagined when we were recording it, of a funeral, the final credits rolling and the camera slowly panning out to the sky.
